Release gates need owners, not slogans
Many financial apps have automated checks that look strong in a demo and weak in an emergency window. Control testing asks: for production releases in the sample period, which gates ran, which were bypassed, and who signed the bypass.
If emergency changes lack a follow-up review, the control design is incomplete even when the happy-path pipeline is clean. Assigning an owner for post-incident release review is often the fastest remediation — cheaper than rewriting the entire toolchain.
Bring ticket IDs and pipeline links to the scoping call; that is what makes a two-week change-control test useful.
